Edward Enos Rowser, D.V.S. (28 Feb 1868 -1950) Dr. Edward E. Rowser was a well known veterinary surgeon of Clarence,Cedar Co., Iowa. He was born on a farm in Red Oak Township, Cedar County, IA. He obtained his early education in the district schools in Red Oak, and later attended high school at Tipton, IA. He entered Ontario Veterinary College of Toronto, Canada, graduating with the class of 1893-4. In the spring of 1894 he located his practice at Clarence, Iowa remaining there until 1900 when he moved to Montana. He lived in Montana for 1½ years on a ranch one hundred miles from a railroad and 25 miles from the nearest town – Lewiston. On returning to Clarence he resumed practice and built up a very successful patronage within a radius of 15 miles. Edward was married in Montana on July 1, 1901 to Sadie Buchan, who was at that time visiting the state. Her father, A. L. Buchan was a resident of Clarence. A. L. Buchan was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, 16 Aug. 1825 and was educated in that country. He left home for the sea for 35 years. On 9 Aug. 1854, in Canada, he married Mary Dee, who was born in Liverpool, England, in 1838. Edward and Sadie had one son, Ralph Edward.
